Program Options
Private Dog Training focuses on ensuring a solid foundation of sit, down, place, heel and recall. Dogs require consistency and repetition to ensure that training lessons are impactful. Owners should understand that they will play a major role in reinforcing basic behaviors and that dogs may require multiple sessions to create meaningful change.
Phone/ Video Consultations
60 minutes - phone or web based consulting (i.e. Skype, FaceTime).
We will walk you through proper dog training techniques that you can implement to address specific issues with your dog.
Behavior Consultation
We offer an in-person consultation for your dog in your home or any environment the owner selects with Luciana, the owner and head dog trainer, of The Balanced K-9.
No two dogs are the same.
A thorough consultation will help us determine what techniques, training program and/or tools are appropriate for your dog.
Puppy Training
This 3 weeks Board & Train Program is for puppies in need of basic obedience. The dog will learn the following commands:
- Sit
- Down
- Come
- Heel
- Stay
- Place
Behavior Modification Board and Training *
Lack of proper socialization with people and dogs can lead to behaviors that elicit poor reactions from humans and other dogs. Barking, excessive jumping, lunging, pulling, reacting to or attacking dogs or humans, biting, chasing, snapping are behaviors that can endanger your pet and community. Issues such as separation anxiety, destruction of property, and territory guarding can unpleasant for the owner and an annoyance for neighbors.
Behavior Modification I
This 4 week behavior modification program is designed to address minimal behavior issues (i.e. jumping, mouthing and counter surfing, etc.) as well as basic obedience:
- Sit
- Down
- Come
- Heel
- Stay
- Place
This training program is NOT for dogs with aggression issues or extreme levels of anxiety or fear.
Intensive Behavior Modification II
This 6 week intensive behavior modification program is designed for dogs with intense aggression issues:
- Human aggression
- Dog to dog aggression
- Bite history
- Intense resource guarding
- Crate/House Soiling issues
- High levels of separation anxiety
- Fear
- Leash reactivity
Intensive Behavior Modification III
This 8 week program is designed for dogs with the most intense aggression issues, anxiety and bite history.
Behavior modification needs are highly dependent on the individual dog and a comprehensive evaluation of its issues.
Our goal is to return to you a dog that, with management, can co-exist safely with humans and other animals.
* ALL TRAINING PROGRAMS ASSUME THE DOG IS HEALTHY AND A VETERINARIAN HAS EVALUATED THE DOG TO ENSURE THERE ARE NO HEALTH ISSUES THAT COULD BE IMPACTING BEHAVIOR.
